It’s a matter of pride and pleasure that Smt. L & C Mehta Arts College is managed by Gujarat Law Society (GLS), a premier educational group since 1927 which houses nearly 29 institutes ranging from preparatory schools to graduate and post-graduate colleges in diverse areas such as arts, commerce, law, management, computer applications and professional courses.
Since 1953 our institute has grown manifold and has been witness to the changes not only in higher education but also in society. We have been transforming ourselves to meet the challenges and expectations of the world. During Covid-19 pandemic, we are passing through one of the toughest times, filled with uncertainty, anxiety, fear, and lifestyle changes. In these challenging times we need to be guided by the wisdom of ancient India – “सा विद्या या विमुक्तये”। – “It is true education which liberates our soul.”
Trials and tribulations have always proved to be great teachers. They help us to grow stronger. Having firm belief in such principles we tried hard to embrace the ‘new normal’ in education and explored how digital education and virtual learning can be expanded and made more accessible. Our dedicated faculty and administrative staff are working hard to pay more attention to the needs of students and help them succeed in their study through online and telephonic tutoring, mentoring and counselling. We are sure that we will continue to be strong and positive against all such odds.
I wish our students to realize their inner strengths and break stereotypes. I would like to tell them that while it is vital to acquire and update specialized knowledge, it is equally important to limit their screen time, include an hour of physical activity to stay fit, develop environment-friendly routines and to be loyal and committed to the family, society and our country. I hope that they will strive to serve the community and lead a more meaningful life.
Let the ethos of Smt. L & C Mehta Arts College fill all with Wisdom and Grace.
